7-30-21 THOUGHTS

A mixture of thoughts this morning.  Man’s Steps, a Good Name, that we learn in difficult times rather than times of laughter, the sustaining of God’s Word, and the concluding Sense of our existence, are reviewed below.  We must LET GOD DIRECT OUR STEPS!
.
Prov 20:24    Man’s steps are [ordained] by the LORD, How then can man understand his way?
Jer 10:23   I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not in himself, Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps.
Eccl 7:1-10   A good name is better than a good ointment, And the day of one’s death is better than the day of one’s birth. 2  It is better to go to a house of mourning Than to go to a house of feasting, Because that is the end of every man, And the living takes it to heart. 3  Sorrow is better than laughter, For when a face is sad a heart may be happy. 4  The mind of the wise is in the house of mourning, While the mind of fools is in the house of pleasure. 5  It is better to listen to the rebuke of a wise man Than for one to listen to the song of fools. 6  For as the crackling of thorn bushes under a pot, So is the laughter of the fool; And this too is futility. 7  For oppression makes a wise man mad, And a bribe corrupts the heart. 8  The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit. 9  Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, For anger resides in the bosom of fools. 10  Do not say, "Why is it that the former days were better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.
Prov 22:1    A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold.
Ps 119:116-117   Sustain me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope. 117  Uphold me that I may be safe, That I may have regard for Your statutes continually.
Isa  57:1-2    The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart; And devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from evil,
2  He enters into peace;
They rest in their beds, Each one who walked in his upright way.
2Cor 10:3-5   For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4  for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5  We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God,
and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
Eccl 12:13    The conclusion, when all has been heard, [is:] fear God and keep His commandments, because this [applies to] every person.

My Prayer:
O Lord, direct our living into right ways.  Help us to write your word on our hearts that we may apply it in our lives.  Help us to find the true, that we may abide in you.  May our every thought be brought into captivity to your will O God.                   In Jesus name         Amen
